Who We Are

The Greater Louisville Project is a non-partisan civic initiative organized by the Community Foundation of Louisville with the goal of ensuring that Louisville becomes one of the nation's most livable and competitive cities.

Its mission is to act as a catalyst, using research, data analysis and civic dialogue to engage leaders from the region's key sectors to come together around a shared agenda to achieve long-term civic progress.

It pursues that mission by:

  • Building consensus around key goals
  • Promoting innovative strategies that are making a difference
  • Publishing the biennial "Competitive City Report"

Key Goals

The Greater Louisville Project focuses on six key strategic areas:

Fix the Basics 1: Improve education achievement in kindergarten through 12th Grade
Fix the Basics 2: Increase attainment in secondary- and higher education, and workforce development
Build on Assets: Economic Development, Arts and Cultural Attractions and Recreational Opportunities
Create Quality Neighborhoods throughout Louisville Metro
Invest in Working Families to ensure that everyone shares in future prosperity
Balance Metropolitan Growth throughout the Region.
